Trucking Along: Our 7 Favorite and Most Popular Trucks

You’re in the market for a truck in the South Seattle area, but you’re not sure who to turn to for advice. We can help, we’re one of the largest pre-owned dealers in the state of Washington!

We’ll discuss the 7 most popular trucks, and why we love them below.

Ford F-Series

Ford is one of the oldest vehicle companies in the world, having started production in 1903. We all know the company, and more than likely we all know someone who has a Ford truck.

The F-Series pickups include light-duty trucks for the average person and medium duty trucks for the more rugged individuals. They even offer heavy duty utility versions for the men and women that work out of their vehicles.

Ford literally offers a truck for every person’s needs, whether it’s big or small. Statistics show that the F-Series was the best selling truck in the world for the year 2017, and we can see why. We have several 2017’s on our lot now, come see for yourself why the world loves this pickup!

Chevrolet Silverado

Just like Ford, Chevrolet is one of the most well-known car brands in history. The Silverado has officially been in production since 1988, though Chevrolet did use the Silverado name as a trim option as early as 1975 on some of its trucks and SUV’s.

They come in several options, including light duty, medium duty, and heavy-duty utility vehicles with customized beds. The Silverado is just now into its fourth generation, starting this year (2019). Of course, during the display of the new model, Chevrolet airlifted the truck onto the stage via helicopter to wow fans and onlookers.

Many people like to customize their personal vehicles, giving it their own special touch. We have a great example of this on our lot right now! A 2015 Chevy Silverado that looks great, and is a truck that you can trust!

Dodge Ram

What a name for a truck, huh? You’ve probably heard the saying, “If you can’t Dodge ’em, Ram ’em”! While we don’t condone violence in any way, it does give us a bit of a chuckle.

Ram has become its own brand in the last few years. Even though they are still owed by Dodge (and ultimately the Fiat Chrysler Company), Ram is more of the heavy-duty line of vehicles offered by the company. They market themselves as the workforce behind the Dodge and Chrysler companies.

These trucks come in varying sizes, just like Ford and Chevrolet. The difference with Ram is their towing ability, which is what they are most known for. Though their competition is really stepping up the game to compete for that title.

The Ram 1500 was awarded the 2019 Truck of the Year, it’s sixth time winning.

GMC Sierra

This truck is mechanically identical to its sister, the Chevy Silverado. The Sierra is offered as an upgrade in comfort and style.

However, for the 2019 model, GMC is offering a few unique touches to the Sierra that will showcase more differences from the Silverado. The first being a two-piece tailgate.

The special tailgate is one of the first additions to the truck to bring attention to the fact that a working man’s pickup can still have the luxury and comfort that is the Sierra.

We have a 2014 GMC Sierra on the lot today that really showcases the luxury and working ability of this pickup. The truck looks great, but you know it’s going to work as hard as you need it to!

Toyota Tacoma

This is the first mid-sized truck on our list! The full-sized trucks mentioned above obviously have their perks, but maybe they’re not the most fuel efficient or affordable options.

The Tacoma however, gives you all the ability of a pickup in a smaller, more compact form.

First coming to the U.S. in 1995, the Tacoma was marketed to younger drivers who were looking for a rugged vehicle with added safety and comfort features than the typical full-sized trucks on the market at that time.

The 2019 model overall has a great IIHS Crash Rating, making it one of the safest trucks on the road today.

Nissan Frontier

This is another mid-sized truck, similar to the Tacoma. The Nissan Frontier has been in production since 1997, selling 79,646 vehicles in the United States in 2018.

The Frontier is currently in its third generation (beginning in 2014), with several special models sold only in European countries.

We think these trucks are so popular because of their small stature, and affordable pricing. The consumer gets the added benefits of having the extra space of a pickup, with the ease of driving a small vehicle. Come check out the ones on our lot today!

Chevrolet Colorado

Rounding out as the third mid-sized truck on our list, the Colorado is a force to be reckoned with.

The Colorado has been in production off and on since 2004, initially being classed as a compact truck. It replaced the ever-popular S-10 at the time and didn’t get upgraded to a mid-sized truck until 2012.

Though the truck struggled in years 2013 and 2014, sales really took off in 2015, earning it the 2015 Truck of the Year.

Popular Trucks

That concludes our list of the 7 Most Popular Trucks, and why we are still loving them. These are the best of the best in the average consumer’s truck world.

Why Certified Pre-Owned Vehicles Aren’t Worth the Cost

Americans buy a lot of used vehicles. Every year, consumers buy more than twice as many used vehicles as new ones.

In 2018, used car sales were nearly as high as they were before The Great Recession. Clearly people are in the market for used cars and trucks.

With used cars being so in demand, retailers are hiking up prices to new heights. The third quarter of 2018 saw record prices in the used car market. Used vehicles were 3.5% higher than Q3 of the previous year.

With used vehicle prices on the rise, are you really looking to spend more than you need to? Today, we’re going to look at certified pre-owned vehicles and why your money would be better spent elsewhere.

The Downsides Of Certified Pre-Owned Vehicles

Before we delve into the drawbacks of certified pre-owned vehicles, let’s take a look at what that means.

What Are Certified Pre-Owned Vehicles?

Buying a brand new car or truck means it’s coming from the manufacturer exactly as it’s intended. It’s guaranteed to operate the way it’s meant to. They also tend to come with all manner of warranties and guarantees in case something should happen to go wrong.

Trucks: America’s Favorite Vehicle Of Choice

Q: What happens when you play a country-and-western song backward?

A: You get your wife back, you get your dog back, you get your truck back…

Joking aside, there’s a reason that so many country songs include a reference to a pickup truck. Aside from baseball, apple pie, the Star Spangled Banner, and Route 66, there aren’t many things that are more quintessentially American.

But just what is it that makes trucks vehicle of choice for so many Americans? Let’s find out!

Reliable, Rugged, and Ready to Work

In some ways, you could say that pickup trucks truly embody this nation’s pioneer spirit. They might not win any beauty contests, but you can rely on them to help you haul everything from lumber to sports equipment to furniture.

The bed of a truck can take a beating and still deliver cargo capacity galore. Seated in the cab, you feel like you’re on top of the world and ready to conquer any obstacles that might get in your way. And no matter what kind of terrain you and your truck are facing, it will be easy to tackle; you’ve got four-wheel drive and an indestructible spirit!

Chances are your truck has seen you through some good times and some tough times. It helped you move your belongings when you left home — and has probably come to the rescue during some of your friends’ moves, too. Your dog has spent countless hours riding in back, feeling the wind in his fur.

Knowing the mileage of a car lets you know if it might need to be serviced or how many years you’ll get out of it. It will also tell you what the value of the car is and show you the level of wear and tear.
